Bassoonist of Burlesque
Yours truly has been playing bassoon for well over a decade. I started as a flute and piano player then switch over to low reed in high school. I quickly rose to a principal chair and racked over six superior award ratings for Solo & Ensemble competitions during my first two years of self-study on the instrument. While in community college, I won two consecutive "Performer of the Semester" awards in the wind section. I played through college with The University of Tampa's Wind Ensemble and at Florida State University while I pursued a health science degree.
My performance experience in New York ranges from Clown Kong & The Restraining Orders, Brian Fisherman's Tiki Band- all the way to Carnegie Hall! I performed with Brooklyn's Grand Street Community Band for over two years. I play jazz, classical, and some modern standards. I've been lucky to have the unique opportunity to be the first bassoonist to play at some landmark venues such as Rodeo Bar, Lucky 13 Saloon, The Slipper Room, and Parkside Lounge. I'm proud to be Coney Island USA's only bassoonist to play in their evermore sacred halls.
